PSCA SEASON 4 BY ROD CARSON PSCA Season 4 Its A Wrap T he fourth season of the Professional Sporting Clays Association PSCA was one of the most exciting seasons to date with the addition of two new groups spurring an increase in participation Title sponsor Fiocchi Ammunition put up a bounty for a perfect game in the final matches which added to the excitement The television program has moved to the Pursuit Channel starting at the first of the year This channel is included in most packages at no extra cost You can also check out the PSCAs YouTube channel Pro Stop 1 was held in conjunction with the Western Regional at Coyote Springs Sporting Clays in Tucson Arizona Stop 2 was held in conjunction with the NSCA U S Open at Big Red Oak Plantation in Gay Georgia Stop 3 was at the Side x Side Ranch and Warrior Retreat with the NSCA Oklahoma State Championship The final events Stop 4 and Champ of Champs were held at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Academy in Branson Missouri The Blaser Junior Tour consisted of four events The young shooters in Junior Open as well as age brackets shot for scholarships and very nice buckles Junior Stop 1 was held in conjunction with the San Antonio Rodeo Junior Shoot Out at the National Shooting Complex in Texas Jonathan Goedrich took the top Boy title with Haylyn Hanks winning the top Girl spot Stop 2 was with the Western Regional at Coyote Springs where Ian Hirsch and Quincy Standage were crowned as top Boy and Girl Westside Sporting Clays in Houston Texas hosted Junior Stop 3 during the NSCA Texas State Championships Top Boy was won by Brandon Reising and Top Girl was Annabelle Ayres The final stop for the Juniors was held at the Side x Side Ranch where the winners were Jared Greenwood for the Boys and Haylyn Hanks for the Girls At the PSCA Champ of 50 WWW NSSA NSCA ORG DECEMBER 2017 Champs event Kagen Long ended up being the Junior Champion with Haylyn Hanks finishing first in the Girls division both overall The PSCA created a Senior Division for shooters 60 years old and over This drew many of the top shooters from around the country Taking the honors at Stops 1 and 2 was Gary Walstrom Stop 3 was won by Gary Stambaugh and Stop 4 by Ray Brown over Walstrom In the Champ of Champ event James Gillman came in hot to win this title For the final Tour results Walstroms performance put him at the top of the Senior division for the year The PSCA Lady division was packed with great shooting Taking the Stop 1 win was young Ayres Stop 2 saw Janet McDougall at the top while Stops 3 and 4 were taken by Katie Fox Ayres won the Ladys Champ of Champs and finished with the highest point total The Open Pros battled very hard this year Many different faces made up the top 28 from the 120 target qualifier all fighting for a spot in the top 16 at each event Stop 1 s winner Derrick Mein also went for and won the Fiocchi Bounty for a perfect game Mein took home an extra 10 cases of Fiocchi Crushers for his perfect score of 125 He repeated at Stop 2 Multi time Tour Champion Gebben Miles took home the big money at Stop 3 in Oklahoma Tom Seay finished first in the final Stop Champ of Champs event winner was Miles and earning the top points for the season was Mein The sponsors of the PSCA title sponsor Fiocchi Ammunition Promatic Traps NSCA Krieghoff Blaser White Flyer RE Ranger and Ables Ammo were well represented Please consider doing business with these fine firms u Derrick Mein won the PSCA Tour stops held in conjunction with the Western Regional pictured and the U S Open and earned the most points for the year in the PSCA standings THADDIUS BEDFORD
