FROM THE NSCA COMPILED BY NSSA NSCA STAFF NSCA Executive Committee Report S tarting in 2019 the National Sporting Clays Association began a new governance process During 2018 a new charter was developed that required NSCA members within their state to elect National Delegates with the number based upon the states NSCA membership Once the National Delegates were elected they nominated and voted on three Executive Council members from their region There are five regions Northeast North Central Southeast South Central and West Here is a bit of a biography on the 15 NSCA Executive Council members and the NSCA Director NSCA OFFICERS u President John Commerford John serves as the Deputy Managing Director State and Local Affairs for the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action He lives in Annandale Virginia and attended high school in Pennsville New Jersey Hes a Master class shooter who has been shooting for more than 10 years Currently shooting a Krieghoff K 80 Parcours his favorite course is M M Sporting Clays in New Jersey John says it took him 50 shots to hit his first target His goal as president is to continue membership and target growth through recreational shooter outreach programs and provide support to our smaller clubs as well as present EC business in a transparent manner to our membership u First Vice President Tim Miles Tim is a general contractor and range owner at Coyote Springs Sporting Clays in Tucson Arizona Originally from Leo Indiana Tim has been shooting over 23 years Hes a Master class shooter using a Krieghoff K 80 Pro Sporter His favorite shooting 16 WWW NSSA NSCA ORG APRIL 2019 memories include the 2009 National Championship his son Gebben won the National title and anytime he has shot with his son and daughter Tim would like to continue to add guidance and objective thinking to all decisions that are made 2019 is his 7th year serving on the EC He encourages every shooter to bring awareness to all the shotgun sports disciplines to the public pointing out that if every shooter brought one new person to one of the games we would double the awareness and participation u Second Vice President Joe Cantey III Joe is a range owner in Camden South Carolina who has been shooting sporting clays since 1991 He is a Masterclass shooter using a Beretta SO5 and he is especially well known for his contributions to the growth of FITASC in the U S Joe likes clays courses that have varied terrain He has won six World Championships but his best memory was seeing his son become the youngest shooter to win the National Championship at age 18 Being around the sport for a long time he hopes his experience can benefit NSCA as we move forward u Secretary Brett Seibert Brett is the club manager of Northbrook Sports Club in the Chicago area He grew up in Prairie View Illinois A Master class shooter with 18 years of experience Brett currently shoots a Blaser F3 His favorite memory is watching his son shoot well Brett would like to ensure that NSCA members are welltreated and the sport lives on Hes thankful for the volunteers sponsors club staffs and shooters that make our sport special u Parliamentarian Jim Montgomery Jim is an electrician in Lake Charles Louisiana Hes a Master class shooter with over 30 years of experience His favorite place to shoot is One in One Hundred in Beaumont Texas He loves shooting so every course is his favorite Because of Jims long shooting history and knowledge of the rules he hopes to be a good example to others who are embarking on this clay target journey and hopes their lives are enhanced by this game as much as his has been He calls sporting clays a fine sport for gentlemen and women and hopes spouses everywhere like his own supportive wife understand it is a wholesome game with no age limits and a good sport for the entire family NORTHEAST REGION u Anthony Matarese Jr Anthony is a shooting coach and gun club manager at M M Hunting Preserve and Sporting Clays in Pennsville New Jersey Anthony has been shooting sporting clays for over 25 years and is a renowned Master class competitor shooting a Beretta semiauto and a Beretta DT 11 Any sporting clays course is his favorite He won the National Sporting Clays Championship in 2008 and was the first American to win the World English Sporting Championship in 2016 Anthony will bring his experience to help the association grow Hes glad to be a member of the NSCA Executive Council and wants to bring your issues to the EC u Brad Hopkins Brad manages Hopkins Game Farm in Chestertown Maryland on the Eastern Shore From Worton Maryland he is currently a B class shooter Shooting a Beretta 391 he doesnt have a favorite place but he enjoys shooting at new clubs across the country A favorite memory is being able to grow up at a gun club and all the great people hes been able to meet throughout the years He hopes to grow the game for the future encouraging more people to
